ABOUT GREAT WALLHome / About Great Wall / Abel Tasman National Park

Abel Tasman National Park

Abel Tasman National Park is located in the northwest of the South Island of New Zealand, and is located in the Tasman region with the most sunshine in New Zealand. Shrubs and grasslands are all over the park, including some rainforests. The park is the most distinctive park in New Zealand. Because the plants of North Island and South Island are mixed on the wooded hillside, this phenomenon is not found anywhere else. Birds in the park include petrels, penguins, gulls, terns, herons, etc. Wild animals include deer, goats and wild pigs. The name of this national park comes from Dutch explorer Abel Tasman. He first visited the area in 1642. Although it is the smallest national park in New Zealand, it is very suitable for relaxation and adventure.

The coastline kisses the boundary of the park, which is very charming. The granite and marble at the cape are staggered in a regenerative forest, showing the beauty of steel. Between the trees and the coast where the tide rises and falls, there is a beautiful beach. The clear stream flows through the mossy valley and into the sea.

In Tipkatiya Bay, the perfect crescent shaped golden sand beach and walking path stretch to Cape Pete, and finally reach the old Maori fortress (fort). Terraces and food storage rooms are still clearly visible. Standing here, you must be able to understand why it was used as a defensive castle hundreds of years ago. The scenery here is infinitely beautiful.
